I've tried to get the volume 10 days ago and compare it with volume 11 days ago looking for a volume spike.
I am doing this in combination with looking at the 10 day slope of highs falling and 10 day slope of lows rising (to look for flags)
All of this is to find flags that started with a volume spike.
The problem is when I look at the resulting charts I see charts that do not have a volume spike.

The filter I am creating looks like this....

Volume is >300000
and price is > 20
and slope of EMA(8) is rising
and volume 10 days ago is more than 100% above volume 11 days ago
and the 10 day slope of the low is above 0
Show stocks where the 10 day slope of the high is below 0

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

maybe this will get you started
Fetcher[show stocks where pattern is symmetric triangle(55,10)
and volume 10 days ago is greater than volume 11 days ago
]

Yeah. I was going down that road but those flags have already broken out (or down)
I'm looking for flags that have not broken out yet and I also want to quantify the amount of increase in volume between the two days, i.e. up 100% or up 50%

Perhaps...
Fetcher[volume > 300000
close > 20
slope of the EMA(8) is rising
set{vchg, volume 10 days ago / volume 11 days ago}
add column vchg
sort column 5 descending
10 day slope of the low above 0
10 day slope of the high below 0
draw vchg
]

compound_gains,

Very nice. However I get "err" msg on following line, - - - slope of the EMA(8) is rising

I used - - - and 8 day slope of the EMA(8) is > 0

Excellent. Thanks for the tips.
I'm still learning how to program here.
