i'm trying to do what youre thinking, for instance Monday, LIWA, took a dive at news of accounting fraud, can you set up Bloomberg or other paid news services to scan for certain words such as accounting irregularities, upgrades, fraud,
mergers, etc, you might try this, set up a news service with key words, then look at a chart wait for the volume surge on a five minute as an entry, the news is priced in is not true, you have time to react on most news, probably the best example of this is december 16 of 2010 when congress acted on credit card fees, MA down, WM up. if you want to spend money you might try Tradeideas or Madscan, supposedly , you can set up news with volume surges. the cost is $60 per month,if youre interested
in news for pennystocks, you might be forewarned most news for that sector is manipulated and too often not true. You might want to confine your universe to Chinese stocks, seems like every other day, accounting fraud hits one doing what LIWA did.
News service are about 60 per month also.
