Niko,
Today I see only one stock on the MAX Down, it's SM. Would like to verify that is the only one you see also.
I see your customized oscillator return when I click on the magnifying
glass in the forum but I don't see in SF where to add a new indicator
only where I can modify existing ones. Can you help me here also?

Thanks a bunch

Vic

Hi Vic,

Yes, only SM was returned on this end as well. One thing good about this filter, or so I think, is that it returns only a small number of matches.

I would suggest that you initially run the filter from this thread and then add it to ure filter collection.

It's also worth repeating what I posted earlier (on the first page of this thread) about the three things that I look for on the chart. Before you plunk down ure hard earned cash, I suggest you take these points into consideration.

UPTREND
  1. The close must be above T3(14,0.50) while DEMA crosses above TEMA.
  2. TSI(6,3) crossed above its EMA and preferably closed above the zero line.
  3. The "return" line above 70 (in a strongly uptrending market); otherwise, crossed above 40 using the "1-day flip" method as outlined in the above filter ("MAX Up") for buying the dip in a bull market.

DOWNTREND
  1. The close must be below T3(14,0.50) while DEMA crosses below TEMA.
  2. TSI(6,3) crossed below its EMA and preferably closed below the zero line.
  3. The "return" line below 30 (in a strongly downtrending market); otherwise, crossed below 60 using the "1-day flip" method as outlined in the above filter ("MAX Down") for selling the rip in a bear market.

Niko,
Thanks again for the help. I didn't see that link. I will take note of your advice on what to look for in the chart
Your willingness and that of others will bring in new folks like me to
the site.
Thanks again,

Vic

Thanks for sharing. Personally, I'm not too keen on backtests as I used to, but ure test results looks pretty good. At any rate, I hope you become filthy rich sooner than later.

Hi, my first post!

Been a member for a little over a day now, finding the whole site very interesting. Been going thru this thread, trying the filters, trying to understand the results they are spitting out.

Any chance somebody could modify the later filters Nikoschopen has posted (the downtrend variants) to allow them to run on a Standard account (as Chetron did for the earlier ones).

Tx

Vic,

I have always had trouble with backtesting and can't get anywhere near your results. Would you mind posting the basic settings? Exit criteria?

thanks,
bill

Bills.
Check the start and end date. I wanted to see how well it works in this down market. Since I posted the results earlier I added a .05 buy stop. This is under the advanced options. As I am a newbie to trading if anyone see a problem with this set up please jump in.
Hope this helps.
