Rough market right now but here's a MACD filter that looks sweet longer term.I have been trying to get one step ahead on the MACD fast/slow cross strategy and this is what I came up with.
Fetcher[Show stocks where MACD fast line(12,26) has been converging with MACD slow line(12,26) and MACD fast line(12,26) is below MACD slow line(12,26) and MACD fast line(12,26) has been increasing for 1 day and average volume(10) is above 200000 and close is between 1 and 25 and date offset 0]

.Have also been playing with an aroon-bottoming filter.
Fetcher[Show stocks where Aroon Oscillator(8) touched -92 and average volume(10) is above 100000 and close is between 1 and 25 and date offset 0]

.

This filter is the combination of both of the ones submitted by petrolpeter in the abve post with some slight tweeks to the Aroon filter to sync it up with the MACD filter. The filter picks winners in an up market. Results are mixed in our current state of hell. You don't get lots of hits but the one that do pop up are profitable in the short term.

Show stocks where Aroon Oscillator(12) touched -90 AND MACD fast line(12,26) has been converging with MACD slow line(12,26) and MACD fast line(12,26) is below MACD slow line(12,26) and MACD fast line(12,26) has been increasing for 1 day and average volume(10) is above 200000 and close is between 1 and 25

Thank for the post petrolpeter,

Michael

simply the filter "stocks where Fast Stochastic Fast %K(14)is below 10" and changed to %K(2) is below 5 for a different timeframe look, with volume above 100000 and price between 1 and 10 combined with my favorites list, found on www.groups.yahoo.com/group/stockfetcher, is the one i've relied on in the past year, traded real time, not paper,it just keeps working .... results in backtesting the last 20 date offsets are (14) below 10, 332 gains 54 losses,86%, (2) below 5, 200 gains 30 losses,87%,... since i'm trading this for real and have for some time i know i have the odds way on my side here, that's all you can ask from a filter, the individual controls the money management part, something that all newer folks have to work on and learn

Four, always be mindful of the weekly macd(12,26) trend lines, fast and slow lines. Only buy when they both are in a positive mode for better results. Selecting every time the green arrow shows up does not mean all of those times are ripe for buying. Just saying. Happy investing and good luck.

marine2... thanks for the feedback.
Quick try with these two parameters. 1st chart looks good. 2nd chart not so good.
... how to stay away from the 2nd chart situations ? Wait for red/white candles... Add MA...
