I have been trying really hard without much success.

Is it possible to write a filter that looks into double Moving averages i.e. moving average of moving average

More specifically, I want to write a filter to identify stocks whose 40 period variable moving average of 7 period simple moving average increased today.

Such averages help to identify mid to long term reversals and is very useful to identify entry and exit point in an existing trend.

Any help or insight is much appreciated in advance.
