4/24/2010 2:36:59 PM With your filter on the QQQQ, DIA, SPY, and IWM, the close 26 days ago is still below the Chikou, and also the close is above Kijun. The major index is still in up trend which also confirmed with rsi(14) above 50. |

4/25/2010 3:48:40 AM mrkx, Your analysis (with respect to trend) is exactly correct. The Chikou clearly shows Bullish sentiment and the Kijun shows an UP trend in the short to medium time frames. All that was taken into account ... however, this was a "counter-trend trade" ... or, at least it was meant to be. A counter-trend trade is obviously a trade AGAINST the prevailing trend ... thus the name. The ... ah hem ... "funny" thing about this was ... I actually had a nice profit on the trade. That "profit" has now disappeared ... and then some. In other words, the filter did it's job ... the trader (ie. me) ... DIDN'T !!! --- I feel (however) like there is still a very good chance I will be just fine. fwiw |
