Correction - RSI(2) 3-a-Day would not have bought ANDS today. I was looking at the wrong entry price. It would not have hit my entry price today, so I would have missed out on that one.

This is interesting....are you using a buy stop on any entry above the previous close?

TODAY'S PAPER TRADE USING THIS FILTER:

Today's stock would be DOVP. The buy limit price is 1.97. At the open the stock dropped down to 1.91. It has bounced back up to 2.08 so far.

scholes,

I am reluctant to give this information out unless heyen agrees to it. He's the one who started this thread. heyen...what about it?

However, keep in mind that I have tried this entry limit in the past on another filter, and did not get nearly the results that the backtester gave. So right now I view this as unrealistic and worthy of only testing. You're right, though. It is interesting.

It's easy backtesting end of day data to stoke the results when you set the Entry Price: low. You would be "lucky" to hit it each day with actual trading.

Oh. OK.

Yesterday 3 stocks came up in the filter, but none of them dropped down to the trigger price, so no trades were made.

This thread is called winning streak as it is nothing close to a mathematical approach.

Of course there is another option to get in at a certain price.
Anyone that knows can tell....

This should call your attantion to the matter that any backtesting involves information, that would not have been available to you at the time actually trading.

"Past performance is no indication of future results!"

Keep that in mind. Dont try to maximize gains, try to have a simple system, that works most times and keeps the losses small.

This link is not meant as advertising, but as a moral story to anyone trying to make it in trading:

http://www.tradeology.com/million-dollar-trade.html

Please, whenever backtesting, take a calculator. Sum up a double ask-bid-spread slippage both ways and your round trip commission. Take this number off your profits and then decide if your system is all that great.

You can calculate yourself rich without slip or commish. But it wont work.

And please browse the forum for "money management". I pray you.

heyen
