I've created another filter based on low rsi(2) value, and it's great :)
Fetcher[price dropped more than 30 percent over last 15 days
and rsi(2) is below 1
and volume is above 50000
and price is above 1
]

Try to backtest this filter with 1-2 days holding period and no profit stop, you'll see great ROI even without any stop loss, if you'll use 1-2% stop loss then returt is amazing

I am new to the Tech game, bought based more of fundimentals in the past. I have learned a lot in the last few days, reading postings on this site. I see you folk creating a lot of filters, how ever you do not tell us new uexperenced folk how to buy the stocks these filters produce. What I mean is some are swing trades, 1 to 5 days some or hold 10 day's ect.... However some have no information one how to play the stock with certain filters, like this one. I ran it and it produces 3 stocks. If it is RSI(2) it must be at the bottom, so do I assume this is a reversal play.
Thanking you guys for sharing your knowlege and exprences. It give us newbies like myself somewhat of a fighting chance.

for today this filter produced ILE, MTEX, DMAX, in most cases todays open is almost equivalent for yesterdays close, so just put "buy order" 9:30 AM, if you'll check intraday charts for those stocks you'll see that today's open is almost same as yesterday's close(on which SF filter is based), so in most cases you may consider that you buy price is the same as in SF filter(yesterday's close)....

Although it's not a given, I think we acknowledge that Rump deserves a large credit for the numerous filters he's shared with us over the years. However, to learn from other's filter is one thing; to think that it's a sure bet to your next dream vacation is perhaps a dream too rich to be materialized. At any rate, excercise caution as you would have done just before the Internet bubble (and that's a mouthful already).

Thanks for the information. I have been Virtural Trading on Options Express for quit sometime. They have a great program to learn how to trade. It also givew you a chance to try different trades to see if you can be successful. An after you blow it you can reset the program and start over until you get it right.
I was going to ask what do you mean by wait for green (new unknow term for me). I will do a search and see if I can find it. Again you guys are great in sharing you knowledge. Most folks keep the know how for themselves or want one of your body parts for the information. If I had to pay the big bucks for the information I would not have enough capital to start trading.
I have also learned from watching information from a lot of the newletters and and recommendations, most of those Guys don't know a whole lot more than I do. I have vitural traded lots of their recommendations and that is why I had to start the vitral trading program over, because I went to far in the whole.(thank the lord it was not real money).
For any new folks OtionsXpress has a great site and no min. to open an account. Once you open your account you can use there live vitural trading program with great support. They are traders building a traders company. They are like this site, in that they share information. During their business hours you can get live help via instant messanger or by phone. I do not work for them or have any connection to them other than my IRA is with them plus a non IRA account. They have great customer service and a great site for beginners.
Again thanks for careing and your help.

Joseph G. Christ (yes that is my real name)

Joseph,

Here's the thread for the "Wait for green":

http://www.stockfetcher.com/stockdb/fetcher?p=forum&sub=view&fid=1001&tid=36708&mid=37119&efstext=V0FJVCBGT1IgR1JFRU4#37119

It just ain't my place to tell you whether this is a viable strategy or not but, as Rump recounted for all you newbies, having the right money-management in place far outweighs the importance of finding the right trading-system.

Hey Shel,

I noticed some time ago that you were swimming in the sea of desperation due to mounting losses. Now that you're pandering (read: pampering) yourself to another tried & yet to be true filter, I'm wondering if you've fully recovered. By all means, you have my kudos.

nikocschopen,

Your StockFetcher posts a year ago were friendly, civil. After a years absense you burst onto the scene dour, sarcastic, cynical. This same question begs to be asked of you. How are you doing?

nikoschopen, I post my filters here since it's a "Filter Exchange" board, I guess it's right... I want to share my ideas with other guys here and see what other guys may share with me... Describing my filters, I never mentioned that I make a lot of money with them, I always mention backtesting and nothing more... About "swimming in the sea of desperation"... I'm not swimming in the sea of desperation, currently I'm accumulting money from my salary to have bigger acoount to buy at least 10 different stocks at a time to have difersified portfolio .... by the way, +1.32% gain for stocks which my filter selected yesterday, I mean ILE, MTEX, DMAX, and it's without any stop loss(one stock down -6.1%)
