I think here is an opportunity for SF to write some simple code to make this happen.

create a reference function called "currentsector" that could be used in place of a symbol, that points back to the sector in which the stock being compared belongs.

Example - instead of having to say comparative relative strength(^SPX, 45) you could simply say comparative relative strength(currentsector, 45) and that would let you compare a utility stock to its sector, a financial stock to its sector, etc. SF already categorizes these so why not build new functionality off of that information?
