The Keltner Bands(20, 2.40) seems to be nearly overlapping Acceleration Bands(20) on many of the charts I'm looking at. They seem to be almost interchangeable.

That seems a little strange, for any 2 indicators to be almost that identical.

Is that by design - meaning they use similar formula for calculation, even though the default width param for Keltner band is 1 and not 2.4?

Or is there a bug in StockFetcher implementation for one of these two indicators?

If someone has access to other charting software, could you please confirm that these 2 bands nearly overlap in that software.

Thanks

I dont know what acceleration bands are but it sounds like they are based on volatility. Keltner channels are based on volatility as measured by the ATR and that probably why they are similar. All indicators (x volume) are derivative of price.
