Lately I've been following 60 minute bars to better time my swing trade entries. When does the first 60 minute bar close? I know the trading day is 6.5 hours (9:30-4). So I'm thinking the 1st 60 minute bar must close at 10 (9:30-10) so that the rest of the bars will be a full hour. But I'm watching at 10:09 and there is still only 1 bar for today. Can someone explain to me how this works?

Thanks
Max

It's not so much WHEN the bar or the candle ends that matters but WHERE the bar or the candle ends on the chart, at least from my daytrading perspective. But it does appear that the first bar spans betweeen 9:30 and 10:30.
