Johnpaul...interesting chart. I too look at the VIX quite a bit to help in timing my buys/sells. Care to shed a little more light on your indicators and how you use them?

Looking at VIX using CST it looks like it is about to rise significantly for at least a few weeks.
Typically thats bearish for the markets.

Zuber, how about posting a chart with CST? If this is too much trouble, maybe you could explain what settings you use for CST applied to the VIX?

Regards
Max

...from sfo magazine:
"as of nov. 30, the vix stood at 22.07, but was off its recent high of 30.00 reading. these are dextremely high levels. for historical reference point, the 52 week average of the vix is now above 16 for the first time since 2004. for those traders who are looking for the end of the downside correction, watch the vix in the weeks ahead. you need to see volitility come down. falling volatility means reduced investor anxiety. as investors become more confident, they are more comfortavle putting money at risk. a drop below 16 on the vix would be a good sign."

maxreturn, Here's a VIX Monthly Chart with stochastic waves for both Monthly and Weekly time frames together.
Quarterly Chart is also in a positive phase .
That puts three LT time frames all working together in the same direction.

VIX...It looks like more pain on the way for longs VIX @25 with 30 being extreme. I think most of us are feeling some pain if long. Playing both sides of the market will cushion the blow. BOOYA filter has me buying drugs, Utilities and anything to do with medical thingy...boring crap. ..ya gotta know the market is in the toilet when filters are returning plenty of drug stocks. ....be careful people.

VIX hit 35 today as CST indicated was likely.

Zuber, I just want to understand at what point your forecast of 35 on the VIX was confirmed. I'm assuming you first waited for the monthly stochastic to tick up, then waited for a dip of the weekly stochastic and then a turn up? Thanks again for your post.
