thanks

One of my general rules is: Sort by % Change; those stocks that have gone up the most will continue to go up the most. Simple, but it works for the vast majority of my trades...

Can someone expalin what exactly is "The Absolute Bottom Filter" doing to filter stocks? How would you explain to someone over the phone what it does? I know it uses Williams %R (2) weekly and RSI (2) weekly but the rest is chinese to me.

I'm glad this thread was brought back to life from 2008. It really looks to have a way to find stocks that move higher. I entered 2 option trades on Friday and they were up 20% and 40% same day. Of course Friday was a good day for most stocks ...but my point is this filter seems to find the right stocks to keep in a watchlist and monitor the price action and enter once they start to move.

I was a subscriber to SF in 2008 but I missed this thread. Actually i never paid much attention to the threads. I only used SF for my own filters.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Riggs
I have the same request to make to you. It would be a an enormous favour to all newcomers to learn the tricks of the trade if the filter gets defined in terms of Entry/Exit points based on some individual ranking (Bullish or Bearish trend) for each pick in the list.

Damoore - how did you figure out the picks you chose to play options so successfully?

Eman,
I realize it's using a slew of oversold indicators. After reading several threads from Riggs in 2008 I think I have deciphered that it is filtering stocks that have a positive Wm%R (2) weekly divergence versus the RSI (2) weekly. If and when the Wm%R (2) weekly increases against a falling RSI (2) weekly it filters the stock. I'm sure it's doing a lot of other things but that is what I could decipher from some of Rigg's other threads.

bkhurana43,
I ran the filter and changed the offset from 0 to 10. Created a watch list of stocks that are optionable, very liquid, volume above 500K. I use support & resistance, trend line & pattern analysis along with price action, MACD, 30 min chart to enter my trades.

The two stocks that I entered were filtered on Feb 3rd and Feb 7th. The stock on the 3rd was BAX and it started going up on the next day...so I didn't get the best entry but it was very strong on Friday, options activity on Friday was heavy and it was looking to break a short term downtrend.

The stock from the Feb 7 was BBD. I think I have a better entry on this stock and it also broke through downtrend resistance on Friday. Reversing trend.

Thx Damoore,

Based on your instructions I managed to pick BAX by the date you mentioned but somehow BBD did not get picked. Pl. do me further favour in this regard.

1) mention the page link of the thread (because there are so many version of them listed) you have used to prepare yourself for long moves

2) did you find the opposite filter for playing short in terms of options trading?

The version I'm using is the chetron debugged version at the bottom of page 1 of this thread.

I did see the reverse but I haven't studied it yet. Trying to figure the long version out first. How about you?

Damoore
Did you get to pick any today for your options trades? I reviewed few but was not very sure and further I did not get time to trade today. I am using TOS as my platform for trade. What do you have for online trades?

Yes I entered 4 new trades today using the Riggs Bottom filter. I use TOS platform. Closed the BAX today for 40%. Still holding BBD @ 20% so far.
