Quilln: it's very easy

Open your TOS and follow these simple steps:

go to 'Studies'....top right corner
'edit studies' from the drop down box
click on 'New' tab located at the bottom left corner
at the top left corner type the name of the study ie KST
now just paste the code that I've posted.
don't forget to uncheck the 'data' tab
it's that easy....glty

Quillin, While on the chart tab go to the studies tab
Then to edit studies
On bottom lab go to "new"
On the left half you will see "plot data-close-delete it and cut and paste the enoire code from JP
Name it on the top, I just put KST then say OK
You will now find this under the User Defined category in the studies area
If you want it to show in the lower part of the chart,as I posted go back to edit studies, click on what u called this and uncheck "
"on upper subgraph"

Now can anyone tell me how come I can only get very few bubbles on my TOS charts, very unlike the labels on stockcharts.com?

JP, Pirate 67,

Thank you. It appears at the bottom of the chart where the red dashed is crossing up and over the cyan colours I am using.

Pirate, as to why your not seeing the bubble appear like the labels on the stockcharts site is because the stockcharts are fixed when it peaks at the highest and lowest points and stays locked in. Here's where we swing traders listen to what Simon SEZ to do when to buy and sell a stock. Most easy way to make a buck or two.

With the TOS charts, the bubble is only plotted on the bottom at it's lowest point, it's the top bubble that floats at hightest point.

ie...I am looking GMCR. 5 day 15 minute chart on my Flexible Grid chart. the current lowest point is 43.04 telling get ready to buy the stock. The highest point Friday was 48. Most of the time when it hits it's highest point, it tends to head down. Then of course it gives a headfake and continues heading north.

Now, if GMCR continues to had south and goes below the 43.04 bubble, the new low bubble will become the lowest point.

For my daytrading, I use a single chart using the LBR_studies indicator and now included the KST. I also use the 13ema and the 50 ema's.

Friday in review showed the low bubble at 44.77 and the KST gave an early warning of the xover it produced.

I could have jumped immediately, however I waited for the 13 crossing over the 50 and bought in. all day long I just follow the wave up until the next xover heading south. Bought back in again as it headed north.

I believe one of my previous messages I think I mentioned I use a scalping tool (WFRT) in real time from http://thinkswimindicators.com.

WFRT is fast while the LBR_studies is like riding on an inner tube down a lazy mans river ride.

Hope this can be of some assistance.

Best regards,

Quilln -

Quilln, I don't have TOS, but subscribe to stockscharts. On your example of GMCR on Friday (I am using the 5 day, 15 minute chart), you wrote that the KST showed a crossover, but you wanted to wait for the 13/50 crossover. On stockcharts, my charts already had the ema13 crossing over the ema 50 on January 30 at 11:00am (and the ema 13 has been above ema 50 since). What am I doing wrong? Since it is a 15 minute chart, do I need to adjust the moving average values? Thank you very much for all your help. It is much appreciated.

Tennisplayer2,

I don't have access to the daily real time services to stockcharts. So, I am in trouble in seeing what your seeing.

If I did, I would help you on the spot.

Quilln,

Thanks for the extensive post. I tried all the steps in TOS & only see bubbles on the price axis to the right of the chart. Also see only the Hi & Low bubbles on the graph for the day. Would like to day trade using this. So would appreciate if I could know what am I missing on getting the price bubbles displayed on a intra day 1 min chart on TOS.
