>I don't think they can even beat the spy benchmark
>Do you follow the no trading rule during first 1/2 hour and last 1/2 hour?

Guys, are you crazy???? How can you perform worse than SPY if you can do several %% per day without any problem??? Are you kidding? May be you mention day traders who have billions of $$$??? If you trading you personal money and you are not billionaire than you can do 3 digits performance annually.
Not trading first 1/2 hour??? Kha-kha-kha!!! I always enter into position in 10-30 minutes after opening pre-market i.e. 8:10-8:30 a.m. Lots of volatility here and in many times it's really easy to trade !!!!
for those who interested:
Mostly I allocate around 20% of my money into one positions, some time up to 30% of account per positions and always set stops less than 10% above/below enter, so average risk below 2% of account...
NEVER had target stop, but always set stop loss within 5 sec after entering into position.

I'll ditto juha. Over 80% of the account in one trade with a very tight stop (mental). No holds over night. In an out usually in 15 minutes and then I try to "stay out". 0940-1000 Eastern is fat with opportunity. As I said, 2% a year return may sound low...but that is 2% of the traded dollars. Funny thing, 11 of 13 of my trades since 3 January have been short. I'm sure I'm well open to criticism at this point, so I'll stand aside.

Muddy, I like the intraday momentum moves you are tagging and will investigate when my situation allows (career marches on). I've found the sweet spot for my current trading "availability" and will stick here while I have to. Soon, though....soon.

I would like to see some of these "scalper" studs churning 200,000 plus shares a day in action. That's a little beyond my comprehension at this point.

"No trading during the first 1/2 hour"?

I agree TRO. I just added that cause many books I have read advise against this. But using your 60m/5m technique, time really doesn't matter anymore :).
