It meant that I found them through my scans,read the message boards ,for finding real news AND what stocks are being pumped and by whom ( very important for me ) and pulled up the charts on them ....and Prayed,ha ...all in 30 minutes.

I can find potential runners,just can't forcast if they are going up or down ,but no problem for me cause I got them loaded to trade either way,long or short on a move either way ( vol spikes are important,red to green ,green to red too )

13th_floor ,

Congrats on the amazing trades. Some of these stocks (SPDE, PTEK) move so fast I don't even have time to enter my trade. Do you have a filter that can pull stocks that are piercing the UBB with a white candle and RSI:2?

Thanks,
bsl113

bsl,
I find them this way Muddy did cause I love to analyze the charts.
Gives me a great feel for the stocks.
He called them bb squeeze/volume/price breakouts aka sq/vol/br

Can be found here:

http://greenonthescreen.blogspot.com/2007/03/filters-i-use.html

Muddy's qoute:
(1) show stocks where close gained more than 8 percent over the last one day and price is between .30 and 40

I use this to find bollinger band/volume increase/price breakout stocks aka as sq/vol/br
Please note, and this is VERY important, DO NOT use any volume indicator with this filter.
The reason being many huge runners go from tiny average volume to a very large 1 day spike on the stock's breakout and with a volume limit in the filter you will miss many of them.

“Tim SOLI was a pump,I know that it was and tried shorting it all day but couldn’t get shares,it fell nasty around 3 p.m”
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

that was even AFTER this one fell from 2.14 to 1.70.
now it sits at .76
IB actually had shares shortable.
love those P and D’s

PCYC just hit pre,news too,watch action
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

17 mins before open PCYC has news,
LATE PRE HIT STRIKES AGAIN.
caught almost the whole run.
off the wall stuff works nice sometimes.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Lesson : 0 volume P and D's might run but they come down wicked sometimes when they do fall
SOLI sure did!

As I stated before :
4. I really watch the "late hits" that appear on the pre-market leaders board, the ones in the 20 minutes before the opening bell. Many of these run longer than the ones that had been on it since 8 am EST as West coasters tend to wake up late:).

4 late hits today LEI FPP CACH PCYC
LEI you would have lost a few % on
FPP you would have made a few % on
CACH you would have made 6% on
PCYC takes you to bank!!

Good r/r there,happens almost everyday

13th can you explain why you like to trade new 52s with lower volume? Are you playing those short the following day? When you say low volume new 52s do you mean 'low' volume as in below some absolute threshold or 'lower than average' volume for that stock (i.e no conviction behind the move)?

johhny,

NO, i won't ever short a stock at or near new 52's.
It's one of my rules I never break.
I'm talking a daytrade long sure but a swing trade also on these LOWER vol 52's.
When I say LOWER I'm talking an average of around under 400k kind.
Look at johnpaulca's trade on MMR ( btw JP,smokin' trade ).
You want to look for the relatively "undiscovered" stocks hitting 52's imo.
Look at the NTI PDO FPP MXC etc. kind as opposed to the RIMM BIDU ICE GOOG kind that everybody knows/knew.
These lower vol ones can give you a wicked burst like no other kind.

P.S. LOOK FOR LOW FLOATERS TOO:)

thanks 13th
can you define 'low floater' for me? <10 mil shares outstanding? or more like < 2 mil?

so you think that new people will come into the new 52s the following day or so, after they discover them on a new 52 scan or something like that.... makes sense.... and the lower float causes more volatility

one more question... when you guys talk about candle piercing the BB, RSI(2), sq/vol/breakout, etc are you running scans for those things or are you just inspecting the stocks that come off the RFR combo and gainers scans

your audience is growing in the chatroom... congrats

johnny
I use this for low floaters:

Fetcher[Show stocks where shares outstanding is below 20
and close is between 1 and 40
and average volume(90) is above 70000
set{diff,close minus close 65 days ago}
set{diff%,diff / close 65 days ago}
set{change%,diff% * 100}
volume is above 50000
offset is 0
]

This finds all the lower floats but you can adjust the price range down.
I use it cause there are some really good higher priced low float runners that may be close or at 52's.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

"so you think that new people will come into the new 52s the following day or so, after they discover them on a new 52 scan or something like that.... makes sense.... and the lower float causes more volatility "

Yes ,exactly!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

"one more question... when you guys talk about candle piercing the BB, RSI(2), sq/vol/breakout, etc are you running scans for those things or are you just inspecting the stocks that come off the RFR combo and gainers scans"

Just off the 8% scans and the vol blast scan,eyeballing them is the only reliable way I've found.
The 8% scan:

Fetcher[show stocks where close gained more than 8 percent over the last one day and price is between 1 and 20 and date offset is 0
average day range is above 3
]

Volume blast scan:

Fetcher[stocks where volume is 500 percent above average volume(90)
and price is between 1 and 20
and date offset is 0
]

With the volume blast I only look at ones that traded above 100,000 for that day but don't use any average vol criteria as that defeats the purpose of catching the up and comers and you might also miss the former 0 vol ones.
