Does anyone have multiple computers set up where they're using only ONE WIRELESS mouse and keyboard?
If so, how did you set it up?

Why not multiple applications open on one computer with multiple monitors? A more common layout, I would think.

Kevin:
I already have ONE computer with TWO screens, using ONE wirless mouse & keyboard.
The guy who installed everything said I didn't have an xtra something or other in the back of my CPU for a 3rd screen ...
I got a laptop a few months back, but it didn't work out .. screen and keyboard were WAY too small.

I really need at least 3-4 monitors for what I'm doing, but unfortunately, I don't know how to set it up.

Hey Kevin:
THANKS for the suggestion.
I called Tiger Direct, and as it turns out, all I needed was an adapter. It converts S-Video to VGA!
Now I'll have 3 screens.
woo hoo!

I was thinking that you could also get two LCD tvs at 42" each. THAT would give you plenty of real estate to work on.

Karen

i have 2-24" and 4-17" monitors and the ability to add 6 more using multiple $50.00 video cards on my machine i built for $800.00. depending on what machine you have, there may be better and or cheaper solutions than that adapter.
To much to type here but Email me a phone number, I can call you later this evening, and we can look up the specs on your machine to see if theres a better option.

same goes for anyone else too. I'm not a tech, but have been building my own computers too fit my charting needs for the last ten years. Be happy to give you my 2 cents.

K,
If you want more than the 3 you can get a DVI seedbox from Newegg or probably Tigersdirect.
The seedbox holds upwards to four graphics cards. I use 3 of the Nvidia Gforce 9800 GX2 with dual DVI outputs to drive a 6 monitor system and 1 HDMI port for a 32 in LCD TV. It works worderful to keep track of 3 brokerage accounts, a realtime stock newsfeed and run 2 high end engineering apps for design and simulation. The DVI will give you greater resolution than the S Video if its imperative. Really nice when the markets flat, I have design block and just need a game or two of world of warcraft.

Thanks everyone!
I'm gonna wait until I get my new monitor.
After it's installed, I'll look at doing the other stuff.
Thanks again.

For those of you so technically inclinced, ...
I have an old box here that says "G-Force 8600 GTS".
I think that's the last video card I installed.

Edit:
Yep. That's what I've got G-Force 8600 GTS.
Anyone know how many monitors it can handle?
Hope it's at least three .. 'cause I've got one on the way!
