TRO, I've been spending a more than a little amount of time going through this thread. Of all the filters/variations of filters that you've posted, which one do you rely on?

Regards
Max

I do NOT rely on a filter.

First, I pick a method. Lately, I have been working on the OVER NIGHT HOLDS for traders who can't day trade.

Next, I find what stocks, STATISTICALLY, produce the most consistent profits with this method.

I am NOT looking for the "stock de jour", I am looking for "cows" that can be milked every day.

I :"found" AAPL and RIMM years ago, and they are still producing "milk".

If you can day trade, then it is MILKING THE COWS / FADING THE GAP.

If you are trying to increase your portfolio, then it is RUN FOREST, RUN.

If you cannot day trade, then it is THE BIGGEST LOSERS - OVER NIGHT HOLD.

But remember...

IT'S NOT WHAT YOU TRADE, IT'S HOW YOU TRADE IT!!

TRO

You don't know me but I just want to thank you for your generosity in sharing ideas. I started trading fulltime 2 1/2 years ago when I made a "career change" ( LOL - I was laid off after 25 years). I've read tons of books , put in hundreds of 12 hour days and spent nights and weekends trying to learn how to make a living in the markets. It's been very tough the last couple years but I hang in there.

Bottom line is that while the experts tell you avoid scalping and daytrading, this is what best fits my personality. You are the first trader I have run across that stresses taking small wins throughout the day. If I can average 4-6 $50 dollar wins per day I can make a reasonable living. Why take large risks when you can win the race with slow and steady. Your success has been a great reinforcement to me that I can be successful with this kind of trading. I recently moved to Arizona and I now get up at 5am every morning to trade the opening. Your filters and systems have inspired me to create my own and I want to thank you for your being willing to share.

Hopefully I am going to ultimately be successful and if so, I intend to share whatever I learn with whoever I can help.

Thanks,

Mark

I may go to see Atlanta play next week.
