Kevin..So these are not just next day orders, but are "good until cancelled" orders?

No, they are day orders only, NOT GTC. If tlimit order is not triggered the next day, it expires. If the stock sends a second trigger, a new limit order would be generated at a new entry price.

Hi Kevin

I am planning to subscribe to this site sometime next month. Can you please let me know if I do subscribe and at that point in time you have 5 holdings already, does that mean I am not going to get any stocks purchases emails until one of the holding is sold?

Thanks

Sohail:

At the moment all trades in this system have been closed, and there are no candidates pulled up from the filter for today.

To date Pangolin Z has closed 19 trades, 15 profitably (including the last 13 trades in a row). The four losing trades were triggered by a C2 simulated margin call, and were closed out before the system exit was triggered. If they were traded as the system intended 2 would be profitable, but that is water under the bridge.

The average trade return so far is +1.38%.
The winning percentage is 78.9% (15/19).
The average holding time is 3.91 days.
The average drawdown seen is -0.38%, giving us a Return/Risk ratio of 3.68.

The system equity is up +5.1% since inception (3/26/13).

I will note that this level of performance is higher than the 5 and 14 year backtests I have done on this system (you can find them at http://www.statisticalinvesting.com), so I would advise against any irrational exuberance. I'm exuberant, but trying to be rational about it.

Back test results are available at www.statisticalinvesting.com. I back tested this over a roughly 14 year period, which included both recent recessionary periods.

Kevin,

Thanks for responding.

The other issue I have (before I make a decision on subscribing to your service) is the quality of database used for backtesting. Please share the details of it and if the database used included delisted, merged and acquired stocks as this could impact the results.

Thansk again for sharing your wisdom with the group.

Like every other program out there, the data is from Yahoo. Therefore it has a survivorship bias. This is an issue with every backtest system, including SF.

My suggestion is to monitor the system performance going forward, rather than rely on the backtst data if you are concerned. If you wish to discuss this in more detail it would probably make sense to email me directly - statisticalinvesting@gmail.com

Hi Kevin,

You have been a great asset here and class act always contributing where you can. So thank you. What I have noticed on Twitter/Stocktwits over the years is that people have been posting their trades, building their followers and then take it to a subscription base model. You might want to consider this as an option. Being on Collective2 you might not get noticed. Just a suggestion.

Best of Luck,
George
