R-Squared

ParametersIndicator
Period
UsageRSquared(close,45)
RSquared(MA(10),50)
DescriptionR-Squared is a statistical measure of how closely values match the linear regression trend line for a data series. In conjunction with the linear regression slope or "slope of" function, the R-Squared can help ascertain the strength of the trend.

For example, the filter below provides matches that may be showing a strong 45 day uptrend:

Fetcher[45 Day slope of the close is above 0
and RSquared(close,45) is above 0.750
and close is above 5.00
and average volume(30) is above 250000
and add column RSquared(close,45)
]

Below is another example, that looks for strong down-trends based on a short-term moving average:

Fetcher[20 day slope of MA(10) is below 0
and RSquared(MA(10),20) is above 0.750
and close is above 5.00
and average volume(30) is above 250000
]

The RSquared value ranges between 0 and 1. Higher values indicate stronger trends (either positive or negative.)
