Why does a symbol not appear in the results?

What to do when a symbol does not appear, but you believe it should?

Below are some checks you can perform to verify why a particular symbol is not appearing in your results, but should based on your filter requirements.

Required History for Stocks

This setting is found on the "Settings->Results" page and sets the days of history required for a symbol to appear in your list. If a symbol does not have the "required history" then it will be excluded from your results.

  1. Click the Settings link at the top center of the StockFetcher page.
  2. Click the Results option.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and adjust the Required History for Stocks option.
  4. Click Save.

Ignore List

The ignore list contains symbols you do not want to appear in filter results. To check this list, simply click "Settings" and then "Ignore List"

  1. Click the Settings link at the top center of the StockFetcher page.
  2. Click the Ignore List option.
  3. Inspect any entries in your ignore list and adjust as needed.

Zero Volume

Another setting on the Results settings page which prevents symbols from appearing that have zero volume for the current date.

  1. Click the Settings link at the top center of the StockFetcher page.
  2. Click the Results option.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and adjust the Toggle Automatic Filtering ... option
  4. Click Save.

Check the Symbol against your Filter

While viewing your filter, you can use this tool to see if the symbol fails against any of your filter requirements.

  1. While viewing your filter results, click the Tools button
  2. Select the Compare Filter vs. Symbol option
  3. Enter the desired symbol and click OK.

Global Filter

If you are running a saved My Filter, be sure to check that the Global Filter setting is not excluding the symbol in question.

First, verify that the GlobalFilter is on for the current saved filter:

  1. Click the My Filters link at the top center of the StockFetcher page.
  2. Scroll to the saved filter and check the Global Filter toggle.

If the Global Filter is on, verify the contents of hte Global Filter:

  1. Click the Settings link at the top center of the StockFetcher page.
  2. Click the My Filters option
  3. Verify and adjust the Global Filter text
  4. If necessary, click Save.
