NinjaTrader seems very powerful and extensive. Unfortunately i dont have the time to look deeper into NT yet. Will sure do though...

I just got familiar to SSChart and its graphical trading (placing orders on the chart). Works well. Very comfortable... but no autotrading available.

Yes, your MACD setting looks good on a 1 min.

As far as i know SF only filters stocks, no indices, no futures.

Maybe using an index tracking stock could help you out?

Fetcher[
set{spx10,ind(spy,MA(10))}
set{spxc,ind(spy,close)}
set{spxd,spx10 - spxc}
set{spxrat,spxd / spx10}
set{spxpcnt,spxrat * 100}
close equal ind(spy,close)
volume equal ind(spy,volume)
add column spxpcnt {MA10 offset}
Draw MA(10)
]

Yes, i use a 1 min OHLC in combination with a 5 min candlestick.
I sometime switch to 15 min depending on market speed and current trading range.

I take the current market movement and look for entries using stochastics.
%K(5,5) and %D(5,6,6) worked pretty well for me on 5 & 15 min.

Chart length is whatever i can afford on my desktop, the more the better.

But i'm not an ole pro (less than 1 year)... so maybe there are some others that can suggest other productive setups.

Im flirting with the emini right now.

Have you tried Stochastics? I understand the trend better with a 5 period stochastics on 1 min and 5/30/60 min. Going long on a 1 min X+ doesnt make sense, when the 5 min stoch is hard core bearish.

Albeit the combination of both seems to be excellent.

hscott,

great work - 76% exceeds many trading systems!

Yes, there are surprising accuracies. The question i asked myself is:
how many days do we have to look at to avoid coincidence?

testing different time frames means a lot of manual work.
so thank you for your tests. i wish we could do a backtest.
but this seems to be beyond SF's actual capacities.

Good job hscott!

Now, many have cursed the parabolic sar meeting sideways whip saws!

I must under any circumstance highly recommend to add "Draw weekly parabolic sar" to your settings! It is amazing how well this shows the long term trend really early!

It just knocked me off my socks!

And yes, the QQQQ crossed below (!) the weekly parabolic sar on its second downday. After the whip saws it made it seems we just experience a pullback for a further downtrend.
Look at July 2004!
