We have restored your filters. We are looking into reasons why the re-org tool causes this.

On the Results Settings page, you may want to set the option: Days of trading history required to appear in results: to 0 (zero).

Due to the lack of volume CAVR would not appear to have sufficient trading.

Below is a corrected filter that does show CAVR on 11/26/2018.

Fetcher[Show stocks that close reached a 52 week high within the last 10 days
and close is below 1
and volume is above 1000000
and ema(10) is above 0
and date offset is 11/26/2018

General Discussion · Can someone please clarify to me why the DMA is so significant?
msg #143587

Thank you for the details! In your example the final 14 bars on StockFetcher are calculated precisely as described in our prior response and email.

As with any negatively displaced moving average, the final "period" bars will not be the specified displaced average. Our solution chooses to fill the values as detailed; however, regardless of the solution the final "period" bars will either be invalid (i.e. blank) or calculated differently from the specified average. Of course if we had future data we could solve that! :-)

Hope that helps! Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

If possible can you provide more details concerning an "extra line"? We only see the 2 MA's in the chart resulting from your example filter.

As detailed in a prior email response, StockFetcher does not display a GAP on the chart for negatively displaced MA's.

... For an DMA(n,-p), the final p days of the DMA are simply:

DMA(n,-p)[0] = MA(n - p)
DMA(n,-p)[1] = MA(n - p + 1)
DMA(n,-p)[n-p] = MA(n)

Or, in StockFetcher syntax, you can compare the pairs below:

close is above 50
and average volume(30) is above 1000000

/* DMA(n,-p)[0] */
add column DMA(10,-4)
add column MA(6)

/* DMA(n,-p)[1] */
add column DMA(10,-4) 1 day ago
add column MA(7)

/* DMA(n,-p)[n-p] */
add column DMA(10,-4) 4 days ago
add column MA(10)

Thank you,

If possible, can you provide more details on how the DMA is not displaced on StockFetcher?

For example, in a 14-day negative displaced DMA, the value matches the 14 days ago matches the current day MA:

apply to symlist(AAPL,GE)
add column DMA(28,-14) 14 days ago
add column MA(28)

Thank you!

General Discussion · RSI discrepancies

The RSI is a recursive calculation. With recursive measures, the starting point will impact the final values. Using less or different historical values to "seed" a recursive measure will introduce an error factor between implementations.

Specifically, the RSI on StockFetcher uses Wilder's Smoothing Average when generating the smoothed upward and downward price values. The Wilder's Smoothing Average, similar to an EMA, is a recursive calculation requiring the prior value to calculate the current value.

Additionally, we did verify that StockFetcher's RSI value for TRMB appears to match both StockCharts and Yahoo Finance:

If possible, can you provide more details concerning the amount of history you are using to seed your RSI calculation? StockFetcher uses approximately 2 years of historical data.

While we actively monitor the StockFetcher forums, we have always preferred members resolve differences in various ways; either via agreeing to disagree, personal use of "ignore" feature or simply not using the StockFetcher forums.

The StockFetcher forums are intended as a community resource for StockFetcher; however, at its core, StockFetcher is a technical screening and charting service. The forums, while an important and active part of that service, are intended to further development and contribution to the core functionality and purpose of StockFetcher.

At this time, we have not seen anything that warrants revoking someone's membership. We do understand, as previously stated by members, there may be consequences of that decision; however, given the options available we feel the current issues could be addressed in other ways.

Happy New Years to all -- and all the best in 2018!
