How do you trade the stocks you sort through the filter?
Is it "wait for green"?
Thanks

It's not your oscillator. It's Linda Raschke's oscillator from "street smarts". Give credit where credit is due.

This is a filter I use.
It is based on the holy grail setup in Connors and Raschke book.
The basics are:
Trending lower (ADX > 25) ema(140) decreasing
Correction to the ema(20)
Enter on the break of the low
ADX(14) has been above 25 for the last 2 days
and low is below EMA(20)
and high is above EMA(20)
and Historical Volatility(50,1) is above 40
and ema(140) has been decreasing for the last 3 days
and close is above 5
and average volume(30) > 500000

Thanks for posting this.
I read "Smart Trading" and most of the writen material on her web site. I like the way she trades and learn a lot from her.
I use the 3-10 oscillator and the anti setup regularly.

this is the way I use it (as described in Connors and Raschke book "street smarts"):
The CMA(OSC,16) is the trend line.
This filter produces a lot of "noise" so pick up you trades carefuly.

If you are refering to Raschke's 3/10 oscillator, than I work with the following:
set{OSC, MA(3) - MA(10)}
and draw CMA(OSC,16)
It's a good momentum oscillator for swing trading.
The MACD uses EMAs insted of MAs so I don't think you'll get the same results.

Read "Trading for a living" too. It's a good book for rookies.
I use two setups from "Smart Trading" for the last 4 months and doing fine.

You are right. I'm trying to do what you suggested, but I'm getting frostrated because I get out too soon, or just befor the big move I anticipated occures. So I get out with 3% gain (not bad at all for two days) instead of 10%+ if I stayed another day.
I'm trying to come up with a better exit strategy, but with no success. The fear of loosing the small gain overshadows the potential gain I might gain if I stay longer.
