Can anyone come up with a filter to catch a low level tight consolidation pattern breakout using UNXL as an example.BION is another good example.The main criterior are 1) Stock must move up on 100% or better volume from previous day,Dec 7.2)Range must be in a tight pattern,go nowhere type,the longer amount of time,the better.3)Price under $10.Thanks,Happy New Years,Mike Tranz....

Hi
Try this for a start.

Fetcher[
close > .2
market is not etf
set {gain, close / close 10 days ago} add column gain
set {tight, atr (4) / atr (10)} add column tight
gain > 1.45
sort column 6 ascending
average volume (30) > 200000 and add column average volume (30)
draw tight
]

This will get your large price and volume gain.
Getting the pattern or tight back down to what you want maybe.

Good luck

That's a good start,but how about just a consolidation filter,before a possible breakout.Thanks for your help.Mike...

Sorry about that did not understand the question.
I use this for consolidation.

Fetcher[
draw RSI (2) and draw ATR (3)
atr (3) reached a new 40 day low
set { C, atr (3) 1 day ago / atr (3) 8 week low 1 day ago} and C > 1
set {D, atr (3) 2 day ago / atr (3) 8 week low 2 day ago} and D > 1
set {wild, atr (7) / close} and wild > .03 add column wild
close > 2 and average volume (30) > 700000
market is not etf
set {b, close multiplied by volume}
set {kilo, b / 100} add column kilo
]

No stocks today because it was to wild.

Change ATR (3) to what you want
The Wild filter is to weed out stock that do not move much. You may want to change this also

See ya
