I am trying to calculate the number of days since a 20 day high or low was set and have been unsuccessful. Any suggestions??

I've been all over those links.

DAYS function requires a comparative clause which compare two operand's values on the same date. It seems I need to compare on operand (such as today's 20 day low) with another operand (such as the close on previous days) in order for the DAYS function to calculate a difference in days, which the DAYS function appears to avoid.
