Hi all,

I know there used to be a topic in the forums that showed a couple of examples of filters that can be used to find gaps. I can't find these anymore and wonder if someone could enlighten me on some basic filters I could use as a basis?

I appreciate any help provided.

Hi,

There are actually a couple of ways you can look for gaps and also specify the size of the gap you want. Below are some examples that will hopefully help out!

Fetcher[open is above the close 1 day ago]

Fetcher[open is more than 2% above the high 1 day ago]

Fetcher[open is more than 5% above the close 1 day ago]

Fetcher[close to open gap is above 5%]

Hopefully those help out. If not, or if you were looking for a different type of gap -- let us know!

Thanks,

Tom.

Thanks again.

Hi,

Below is an example of a filter that might help to find a Bullish Breakaway Gap. You'll definitely want to tweak the parameters to suit your needs. Also, it should be fairly straightforward to reverse this one to look for Bearish cases.

Fetcher[
show stocks where the linear regression slope(90) is below 0
and draw linear regression channel(90)
and low is above high 1 day ago
and close is above open
and volume is more than 50% above average volume(10) 1 day ago
and average volume(10) is above 50000
]

Good luck! And let me know if you have any questions about the above!

Tom
