What happened?
I thought we were "finished" for the year (per wallstreetgenius' post - "the market topped in January").
Was last week a dead cat bounce? Or is the DOW continuing up till June?
Opinions?

On both the daily and weekly charts the markets look very overbought. I'm looking to add to my short positions tomorrow.

Don't try to predict the market. I don't think anybody has ever been able to predict the market on a consistent basis. Even the "mighty Riggs" has failed miserably. So why wast time and energy. The market is telling you every day what you should do. Just listen.

Of course Koronbock is right. Having said that, I agree with Hairyhead that the daily chart of the spx is OB and due for a pullback. In looking at the weekly I think the probabilities favor a retest of the february high.

Look at TMW(Wilshire 5000) on www.bigcharts.com for time= 4 years; Frequency= weekly; SMA= 40(200day MA) for the general health of the overall market. You can add whatever other parameters you want.

As far as I know, a dead cat doesn't bounce. :P

Having grown up on a farm in mid-Wisconsin,I can verify that dead cats bounce, but only once.

By all accounts, this cat is pronounced dead―especially in light of the fact that nobody believes Bernanke when he testifies in his usual about-face manner.
