I have been trying all afternoon to write a filter that would have caught the MACD(2,3,9) cross of the fast line over slow line on ZHNE on Aug.19th or 20th. Using ZHNE cause he is trading that stock right now...think he got in on the 24th or 25th. Of course I have had no luck. I am trying to do this because I have a friend at work who trades by watching the macd(2,3,9) green line cross above the red line. Then he waits for the macd(12,26,9) green line to cross above the red line and he buys the stock. He seems to have a lot of luck trading this way! Needless to say I am trying to write a filter for this but......I am having no luck. I'm sure this is really simple but NOT FOR ME!!! Someone please help me....Thanks

Daily or weekly? I like to use these setting on a weekly MACD.

I traded this system for a while with good results. Lately, no MACD seems to be working for me.

try this: draw weekly MACD Histogram(2,3,9) as part of your filter to see how it works.

Good luck.
