I read about an approach of filtering stocks according to sectors .

For ex , choose the best performing sector for this week , then drill down to the best perfomining stock in that sector .

It makes lots of sense to ride this stock .

Do you know if there is any filter that can say .

a- Find the highest sector gain
b- stock where price is increading for the last 3 days in sector (above)

other filters can then be added but this is the main basis of this filter .

Go to Finviz-Groups-performance-stocks.This will give you the best performing sector and stocks for the day-week- month-3 mo-6 mo-year. Hope this helps

is that similar to what stockfetcher has here on homepage ..

it seems they have more detials though ,, it would have been great if they break it down to stocks ..

They do break it down to stocks, you just didn't go far enough. Click groups-performance-then click on one of the 9 sectors you want, it will bring up all the stocks in that sector. Then click the perf week or perf month etc. to arrange in order of their performance. Hope this helps.
