So, XOM would have to go above $82 for me to cover my puts and the call.
This options thing is no "picnic" if you're wrong.
Almost as bad as trading the actual stock EXCEPT, the amount of money you're risking is minuscule.

My point is -- a loss is a loss. I don't care if it's $300 or $30,000.

B (1) 10-16-15 $80 call @ .74

I could sell that for 1.06, but I'll wait till next week.
It's not really in profits since I have 2 puts outstanding.

REVISED:
OUT of the call ....
Changed my mind. Sold for $1.01. Better than nothing.

Now, it's $1.05.

@ Four,
THANKS for participating and posting something!
I can always count on you.
I'll look at that video after mkt closes.
For anyone interested, the "short" def. of Long Straddle is below (which I posted yesterday).

Hmmmm ..let me think ....
I should've bought a put and a call.

Definition:
Long Straddle
A long straddle is a combination of buying a call and buying a put, both with the same strike price and expiration. Together, they produce a position that should profit if the stock makes a big move either up or down.

@ Four,
I just watched ...
Love this video because it clearly demonstrates the advantage of playing both sides of a stock at the same time.
I mean really! WHO really knows where a stock is gonna go?
AMBA taught me a lesson. The answer is, you don't know.
So, you straddle the fence.
Excellent video! Thanks.

Welcome.
I have shown an interest in options. You have rekindled that thought.
Do you have a site that allows free practice like the stock sites?
".., paper trading"

OptionsHouse has paper trading, but you have to have account w/ them, which is no biggie, since their minimum is only $1K.
I've only seen the demo, but never actually used their platform.
I also like PowerOptions.
They have a 2-week trial and IMHO, the best and easiest software. Their website is: www.poweropt.com
They also have videos on Youtube and free weekly webinars, which are VERY comprehensive -- all straddles/spreads.
The stuff I've been doing I got from a webinar I went to last year.
Unfortunately, I can't remember the guy's name who did the webinars, but he sure was good!
I went to two of his webinars and immediately got the hang of what he was doing.
He did the same strategy every week. Nothing fancy. No complicated crap, no definitions to memorize. No software to buy. Just ONE strategy week after week.
If I remember his name, I'll post it.
Have fun!
$$$$
