Kevin,
Do you use the filter in page 4?
I tried it with "date offset is 1" but the result did not include "CHTL".

I added a cmo(5) < 50 requirement just to be safe, and selected "CSKI", it went up 2.86% today,
also changed the volume to > 100000

Thank you for contributions.

Mo

Just using the filter on pg 1 for this one. That is the one that I have backtested.

Using the 8-week filter from page 9 of this thread, the top selection (MIC) has already hit it's target.

In fact, if you look at the selections from this filter for last Friday (which would be the equivalent of ruinning it over the weekend), 4 of the top 5 picks already hit their tragets, and several are up 13-15% from the Monday open.

Running the 13 week filter from page 1, the only stock for this week is CHTL

running the 8 week version from page 9, four stocks are listed: APL, SOLF, FEED, and CHTL in that order of selection.

Good luck.

Hi Kevin.

I've signed up recently and have been reading the forums. I read the original crockpot thread and now this one. Many thanks to both TRO and yourself for sharing your expertise.

I had a thought and would like some feedback. We never know what the future holds or when we will wake up in the morning to a 5% or more gap either up or down. When we do, Murphy's law says that it will be against us.

I noticed both short and long versions of these filters. What about using a balanced approach, using a pick from the short list for every pick from the long list? This may help protect against the risk of the huge overnight gaps when they eventually occur. It might also help performance in a transitioning market.

Just a thought. Thanks again.

Sorry about forgetting to update this again.

The 13 week and 8 week filters (pages 1 and 9 of this thread) both have CHTL again as a top pick. The 8 week filter also had MMR and GNVC as picks.

CHTL is trading down slightly, so this is a good time to consider getting in at a lower price.

Good luck (hopefully you ran this over the weekend as required).

Kevin, since the filter is eod, can I run the filter anytime from FRI 15th through today or did it have to be run before the open today? Thanks

Statistics are based on buying at the open, but one could simply put in a buy order later in the day at that price or a little bit lower.
