I have had best success at trading stocks that drop 4% - 8% over a period of a few weeks, then consolidate in a narrow range of 1 - 2% over a few/several days, then sell the breakdown.
I have tried to scab a formula together, but my programming skills stink. I don't get the results that mirror the pattern I am looking for.
Any takers that will do the programming.
If such a formula exists anywhere in the forum, I can't find it.

Ds2007 Try this
Fetcher[Show stocks where close has decrease between 4% and 8% over the last 3 weeks
and close is greater than 3% above low 3 week low for the last 3 days
and close is greater than 2% below high 3 week high for the last 3 days
and average volume(90) is above 1000000

Thanks msummer2007, that gets me well on my way. The results show stocks that are basing for the next leg down. I am shooting for the trading strategy that stocks will often drop 50% of their overall move, base for a period, then move the remaining 50%. I should have said that up front to help with the filter, but you got the intent for sure.

DS2007 Your welcome. I changed the filter slightly, maybe this will work better.
Fetcher[Show stocks where close has decrease between 4% and 8% over the last 3 weeks
and close is greater than 3% above low 3 week low for the last 3 days
and close is greater than 2% below high 3 week high for the last 3 days
and average volume(90) is above 1000000
and close has reached a new 3 day low
