How do you catch this signal EOD w/o checking it manually?

I always keep my eye on the VIX for market timing purposes .... I have the VXX in my Holdings watchlist which keeps track of Moving Averages and the RSI(2) .... so yes, I do watch it intraday ...

How about just buying option spread on these trades. with fixed risk per trade.

I think you would have to be crazy to try and utilize an options spread on this system .... leakage associated with the bid ask pricing of calls/puts and commissions would likely eat all your profits and perhaps cause a loss ... combine this with the fact that you are susposed to scale in on the trades .... you could potentially have 8 commissions to pay and 8 opportunities to get screwed on the bid ask spread .... good luck

probably trading options on FAS when vxx hits a low. Offcourse trading option has its on danger. But you know how much you would lose. Instead of spreads just buying straight option.

Likely better to play the SPXU or UPRO off a VIX signal as the VIX is tied to the S&P 500. You might want to read some earlier threads on market timing and the VIX like:

XIV ... you'd be out at the close today for a 8.95% gain ... the 97% system is 4-0 since being posted ... I missed this play myself
