i cant figure out how to do this...

i want to find stocks that have had crap for volume for a long time and suddenly now have a burst of volume

an example would be WWEN

http://bigcharts.marketwatch.com/charts/big.chart?symb=wwen&compidx=aaaaa%3A0&ma=0&maval=9&uf=0&lf=1&lf2=0&lf3=0&type=2&size=2&state=8&sid=1889066&style=320&time=8&freq=1&nosettings=1&rand=5432&mocktick=1

i need to find stocks that have been trading flat for a long time and JUST had a huge increase in volume. so far i have the following,

Fetcher[average volume(100) is below 50000 1 day ago
close is above open
volume is more than 5 times above average volume(5) 1 day ago
100 day slope of price is below 0 1 day ago
]

i want to say that the slope of the price is below .1, but it wont let me

what other characteristics do you see about stocks like wenn to reduce the number of results?

Just use my volume display filter.

Then use the pct column to "filter" the ones that have spiked.

Cegis coded this line a while back to catch huge volume spikes.

Fetcher[volume divided by average volume(15) crossed above 10 within the last 40 days

and price between .1 and 10
and 40 day slope of close > 0
and and avg vol(90) > 50000
]

clam61 -

This is what "I" would do if I were a "penny" guy.....

Fetcher[price crossed above upper Bollinger Bands(20)
volume gained more than 400% over the last 1-day
volume is above 1000000
close is above open
close is below 1
offset 0
]

Now take a look at stocks like PDSC, DPHIQ, and JAVO. See what happens when they FIRST hit big volume($1M)AND cross the upper BB?

This filter will catapult sleepy stocks and turn them into newborn "baby bulls." But remember....you're dealing with very unreliable company's! So BEWARE!!!! With that being said....I really like LTWV'S chart and it's natural progression on relatively low volume until yesterday.

Hope this helps,
