mantis2k4,

We've had up days for the last 2 days, so it's redundant to use 2 as the date offset value. However, even taking it back for 10, 20, or 40 days, the results seem pretty good by all account. As I stated before, it had pretty good returns even for not so dirt-cheap stocks. Only drawback is that this isn't ure joe sixpack daytrading tool. I think to justify a large return, you need to excercise some ungainly stoic patience.

BTW, ure tweak is not any different from mine if you take into account that when a "Slow Stochastics(10) Fast %K crossed above 20", it usually means that the "Slow Stochastics(10) Fast %K crossed above fast Stochastics(10) fast %d". The only reason why I decided to use a crossover above 20 instead of %k / %D crossover is that the latter can happen below the 20 line and that would often result in unintended miscarriages.

Also many of the stocks that this filter returned had rallies immediately afterward or, if not, usually within 1 to 3 days. Although not 100% bulletproof, it seems to be a viable filter nonetheless although more tweaking and further monitoring is prolly needed.

Why anyone would WANT to tinker with my filter is beyond me. But if I did, it would have to go this way...

One of the problems I see is that the most of ure stocks sit idle for some time (approx. 7 days) before being itched out of their doldrum.

Niko -

Why do you think I put an offset of 20-40 days or more? These are "LONG" filters my friend. When a stock bottoms out, everyone knows it will sit for a period or two. But that's the beauty of LRI(60). When it touches, "it rings that bell!" A great way to pull off a 10-20% gain in 5 weeks or less. If you'd like to show me a BETTER filter, I'm all eyes man...

Try the modified filter that I posted above. Its response time seems a lot shorter than ures.

Niko -

I said "a better filter." your filter does NOT have better "responce" time. Dude, are you on drugs today? Why are you having a problem seeing and UNDERSTANDING simple facts? Wow....
