This is my basic screen so far...and believe it or not, it has produced some great results for as simple as it is. But, I am looking for a little more specific. This is my first time at posting and trying to write a filter.

show me stocks where MA(9) is approaching MA(18) from below
and average volume(10) is greater than 100000
and price is between 1.00 and 10.00
and the market is not otcbb

I made a few modifications to your filter and with this you will get quality instead of quantity finds. The ones that get picked will be for short term (between 1 to 4 day) trades. Short quick pops. This filter shows favorable environment for uppance. Not for longer swing trades or buy and hold trades.

Yes many times short simple filters do give you tidy results. You had a nice basis to add to.

Here is the modified filter:

show me stocks where MA(9) is approaching MA(18) from below
and MA(18) increasing previous 1 day
and cci(14) is below 0
and cci(14) is increasing previous 2 days
and average volume(10) is greater than 100000
and price is between 1.00 and 10.00
and the market is not otcbb

Here's another one for short term trading.

show stocks having cci(14) below 0
and price is between 2 to 10
and slow stochastic %d is below 25
and ma(4) is below ma(8)
and ma(4) is increasing previous 2 days

Goodluck!

Try this tool also: OBV has been increasing for 2 days

Then add a few more simple filtering tools to this to limit the picks and you have a nice filter.

Another one, simple but effective:

show stocks with -di(14) above 50
and di(14) is below 20
and adx(14) is above 30 previous 3 days
and adx(14) is below 40
and price is between 5 to 30
and day change is below 2
and day change is above 0
and volume is above 10

Happy Investing!

Thank you so much. I am going to look at those this weekend for sure. I have not had any luck for 2 years now.

This week, I changed the MA values to 3 and 6 and had gains (big ones) left and right....
FUEL, SMMU and a few others were remarkable. Not sure if luck or I did something right for the quick pop.

It's good you have found some good tools to use. I currently have 100 active filters i look at for different reasons.

Goodluck and Happy Investing
