I am looking for a way to add criteria to a filter that gets rid of stocks that trade with wide spreads.
To be more clear, I have set minimum average volume around 2,000,000, and I do still want decent average ATR (2% around), but alot of these stocks trade alot of volume, yet have a .07 spread, etc.
Any idea on how to go about doing this?

ok thanks. I appreciate the response
I meant to mention this earlier, but the reasoning behind this is that i want stocks that are "movers" but dont have the large spreads...
this ties into my strategy of automating entries at the open where i pay the offer, but dont get stuck with a large spread.
(in other words, I am trying to narrow my universe to a balance b/w voaltility and not getting hosed on the spread,)
So i guess i am looking for a way to dial this in.
Or looking at this in a different way, If I find the "ideal" stock, is there a way to plug it into criteria and find out what certain stats are so I can make a search that looks for similar ones?

I think you'll find daily volume to be a potential key here. . . .check out AAPL, for instance. It's worth noting, though, that while the Bid-Ask spread on AAPL will be .01 - .02 during the day, at opening and immediately after -- when traders are probing to see which way it's going to move -- the spread is liable to be .10 or more.
