I'm not bottom feeder, no disrespect to the guys that do that. I prefer the breakouts. Most of the breakout filters here well do not excite me. Unlike the other filters I have posted before, you will need to do some work to picks. But man do they run.

Stocks are sorted by "pb" anything over 100 is with breakout setup is fine. The 150 area seem to be a sweet spot for stocks yet to breakout. As for stops, I use the low of the breakout day. This is one of the 4 filters I use religiously. I cycle through all 1000 or so stocks a weekend to make my list.

Fetcher[set{PB ,100*ma(7) divided by ma(65)}
add column PB
and sort column 5 descending
and show stocks where PB is between 200 and 100
draw resistance(45,15,2)
draw resistance(65,10)
draw support(65,10,1)
draw support(45,15,2)
and add column Beta {Beta}
and market is not ETF
set{ iTargetPrice , close * .04 }
set{ Target , itargetprice +close}
add column Target
and price between 10 and 50
and average volume(90) > 100000

The PB score is measure of the momentum of a stock. This scanner allows you to find breakout candidates, falling wedges, and momentum plays. Ill show you all three.

Dont buy gapups. WFM opened above the trigger. You dont want to buy this. I would buy another BO attempt on the name tho.

irishpitbull,

Interesting filter, thank you for sharing it with the SF community.

Couple of items of interest on my end regarding this filter, hopefully it will make this filter more understandable to those of us that are just starting to use it:

1) The filter returns over 1000 stocks to go through (which can become cumbersome) to go through. Do you have any suggestions on how to lower this figure to between 50-100 without comprimising results? I changed the stock price to between $5-$10 and that returned about 300 stocks.

2) Is there a way to perform a backtest on this filter since it gives such large number of stocks? Can you please share the win% and loss%?

3) I would be really interested if you could post details about the way you use the filter (how do you analyze the stocks before entry or how you rank them before buying them). From beginning to end would be great. I saw your posting about pb levels etc. Could you also post your entry strategy and average holding days?

4) From your experience, which stocks have this filter worked best on?

Thanks in advance,
John
