Thanks again for the education.I have a question for you on this filter.If you look back 6 month or further on FNMA,you'll notice its breaking out of a long very tight base.These moves as you can see are explosive when they occur.Is there a way to further tweak this scan to produce this type of base action? Or is there a scan for just a low level base which didn't breakout? Miketranz.......

Your scan caught FNMA on the first day of the breakout.
March 15 at 40 cents.
Now the price is $1.42
This filter is very close to yours.
The problem is not finding the breakouts
it is will this breakout continue.

The key to catching these breakouts is to get on board from day one,ride it up two or three days,sell it.By the time everyone else sees it,starts to trade it,the stock sells off.Timing is the key.Explosive moves come off long consolidation patterns.These two filters capture them from day one.Thanks again Dave......

miketranz - I've been using aroon oscillator(20) and when the slope is 0 (a flat line on the plot) it shows that the market is consolidating.
