I have fully automated trading... AutoAvery.

I have computer assisted trading... AutoAvery TradeManager.

Works great!

In addition to TradeStation, CyberTrader & host of other brokerage firms now offer real-time screener in their platforms. For those who are interested in automated (programmable) trading, although TradeStation stands out as one of the best, both Cybertrader & RealTick offer this capability as well. If you're looking for a third-party API software that will place the trade for you, you might want to look into Wealth-Lab (http://www.wealth-lab.com), Tradebolt (http://www.tradebolt.com) or TradeBullet (http://www.tradebullet.com/). Welth-Lab, in particular, can be customized to work with various trading platforms, including Interactive Brokers' TWS. For more info, check out their forum (http://www.wealth-lab.com/cgi-bin/WealthLab.DLL/category?id=14)

I've already provided a few names of those who offer automated trading, be it proprietary or secondary. Have you checked out their respective websites? To recap, TradeStation, CyberTrader, & RealTick offer automated trading based on backtested criteria. They're all top-notched brokers cum software vendors. However, they ain't cheap either. Interactive Brokers, on the other hand, provide an alternative to automated "trigger" based on simple conditions you specify (as a current IB customer, I hardly ever use this feature).

Now to the third party vendors who provide software to integrate with your brokerage accounts. If you're like me and wanna go with the lazyman's route into automated trading, without all the fuss about technicalities of the programming languages, you might want to try both TradeBullet & TradeBolt. They simulate TradeStation functionalities without the extra cost. In addition, they work seemlessly with data vendors such as eSignal or Metastock, hence you get the same features of TradeStation at a fraction of the cost.

Lastly, if you want the scalability of automated trading AND backtesting, then definitely check out Wealth-Lab. After all, wouldn't you want to see the result of your filters before unleashing them on their own? Only drawback to using Wealth-Lab is that there's a language barrier you must overcome. As a minimum requirement, you need to learn the basics of their codes. If you're computer-savvy or have the will to learn, I encourage you to give it a try.
