Here's a very simple stochastics filter that finds low priced stocks that maybe pushing off of bottom support. I've had good success in the past couple of weeks in this market environment. But I've been taking short-term 0-3 day swing trade profits of between 12 and 25%. I'm sure I could have done better if I held the runners. That being said......the market seems to be stalling the past few days. And with states now wanting to open things back up, this could be the top of a dead cat bounce. So I'm going to tread lightly next week.

slow stochastics crossed above 20
fast stochastics is above slow stochastics
price is between 0.5 and 10
average volume(20) is above 250000
close is above open

Next, is there a secondary confirmation that you use to winnow down the candidates, for example, confirmation of an upward move by 2 consecutive days of gains...?

Usually I just use the eyeball and gut feel method to pick out a few, then I look up their company profile and fundamentals.

But if you want to narrow the field using technical indicators, I also like ADX a lot. So you could add:

+DI(14) is above -DI(14)

And then if you want to narrow it further, add the 2nd line:

ADX(14,14) has been increasing for the last 1 day

Many thanks to (Mr. or Ms.) Schumacher and (the same appellation as appropriate) Snappyfrog for their efforts; I'll give the modified model a fair shot for a while and report on results...

Since ADX is the favored filter for refining selections, I suggest refining the tracking by breaking the picks into 2 groups: those above (25+) and those stocks identified above and below (24-) the suggested minimum to see how each set performs...
