...gotta say, Rumpled...there are some aspects of this filter...

...the multi-day "tightening" of the daily range (displayed as "tight")...

...the multi-day "shrinking" of the daily Volume (displayed as "vlxvl")...

...all culminating with an Inside Day...

Nice !!!

Very interesting little filter here.

I'm actually thinking about how I might somehow incorporate it within my Range Contraction/Expansion Filter !

Or, at least certain parts of it.

TRO: I'm trying to follow your example specifically in order to learn and can't be sure of exactly what day is being talked about when you state: "Here’s a beautiful example from just yesterday. One that I completely missed out on, by the way. ;-)
GM chart "

I'm looking at various GM charts on minute and 5 minute candles and am not exactly clear which day is being referenced. Could you help please?

Thank you ... Steve Mc

please understand this thread was started almost a year ago. and the GM chart you are refereing to isn't being mentioned by TRO. TRO only copied an article from dummyspots.com that was written 2 years ago.

Chetron: Thank you. The link you provided should be all I need to study the "dummy spot."

Damn...I didn't even notice that. LOL

I saw the Dec 5th date on the posts and just ASSumed this was recent stuff.

No wonder TRO didn't seem to remember. His "forget" post makes a bit more sense now. LOL

My apologies !

Well, a month's gone by and no further posts here. Makes me wonder.

Has anyone actually put the dummy spot concept to work such that they achieve better than a breakeven situation?

Iv'e now tried it with variations using StockFetcher daily charts and during the day backtesting it on TradeStation to no benefit. Can anyone offer me a hint or suggestions as to how and when to make it profitable?

Thanks .... Steve
