I am trying to build a filter that shows bollenger band width, not widening, but just about to start widening, at the end of the squeeze. Any help would be greately appreciated.

If you could define "just about to start widening", I may be able to help...

woofys

Bollinger Bands are an indicator that allows users to compare volatility and relative price levels over a period time.

Search for stocks with increasing volatility in the past few days.

cegis One idea I had for bollenger band width widenning was:
Fetcher[upper bollenger band(20) increasing for past 1/8 days and lower bollenger band(20) decreasing for last 1/8 days]

My thinking was that at 1/8 of a day the bands would not be fully expanded and I could still get in on the move. But it does not work.

Could it be that you have bollinger spelled incorrectly in your filter?

woofys,

To make sure I've got this right, by "1/8" do you mean one-eighth of a day? If so, you can't do "partial days" with daily data (can you??), which is all SF has...

cegis: By "1/8 day", I was thinking in terms of hours.
