I am Arik from Israel. 53 years old, married with 3 amazing kids (28, 22 and 20 yo). I am an IT specialist, currently in a small Media company. During the past 20 years I lost my job 4 times, all of them due to external reasons (recession, company shrinkage, ect) and each time I had to struggle to support my family, doing whatever job I could find, until a decent job came by.
Around 2007 a friend introduced me to the stock market. I couldn't afford putting in it any money but i got fascinated by it. BTW that friend made one stupid trade, violating all the rules, and lost 120% of his capital....
Recently, after 5 years of a steady job and income, I finally managed to put some money on the side, and made a "deal" with my wife: if I lose 33% of my capital I withdraw the rest and abandon trading. So far, 7 months in this, I am around 20% down (I still consider it Learning Curve or The Cost Of Learning).
I try to focus mainly on 1-3 days movements, and I do fairly good with Day Trading.
I learned A LOT on this forum and I still am. Thanks for all your posts, guys.

Hi all!
Certainly much younger than you all. Age 24. Lived nearly my whole life in Arizona but looking to move to NYC or Boston. Hoping to land a job in trading however one of my next goals in life is to learn programming since its seems to be a requirement at most quant firms.
Been paper trading for about a year and decided to start testing some systems a couple months ago. So far so good thanks to the members of this site.
Currently in full on learning mode but hoping to have some meaningful contributions in the near future. You guys are all great, I love checking this site every day. This site single-handily has got me addicted to trading
