Need advice please! I would like to get the dollar (difference) between ema(200) and close, and then convert this dollar difference into a percentage by dividing by the EMA(200). Below is what I used and correctly got the dollar difference put into a results column, but cannot get the percentage. Any ideas?

[close is above 3 and close is below 15 add column ema(200) and add column ema(200) minus close and add column ema(200) minus close divided by ema(200)]

StockFetcher Tom, have you had a chance to review this request? If you don't understand my question, please let me know and I will try again.

Thanks, Joe

Hi Joe,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. First, StockFetcher doesn't support the nested math operations. This is something we hope to add, but at the moment, it is not possible.

As far as a solution to your problem, I might recommend something similar to the example below:

Fetcher[close is above 3
and close is below 15
and add column ema(200)
and add column ema(200) divided by close
]

Clearly this is not the exact solution that you are looking for, but the behavior should be similar. All cases where the EMA(200) is below the close, you will have a value less than 1. And, all cases where the EMA(200) is above the close, the result will be above 1.

Again, we realize the above isn't the exact solution, but maybe it helps!

Thank you,

Tom
