Shorts can give the best returns ...so I'm looking for a filter that shows stocks ready to topple. I thought this would be easy ...but it seems every screen I build has too much scruff .... HELP !

Thanks

Unless there is a Depression there really is no reason to short.

"Unless there is a Depression there really is no reason to short."

or a METEOR CRASHING INTO THE EARTH

But anyway to answer your question a good place to start is a red candle pierced by the UBB or better yet one completely out of the UBB like ISIS 11/13 and build your filter from there.

LOL ...

...even when the bull is running, there are always pull backs!

Wallman ... Thanks. I have watched BB, and candle sticks and too often the turn is easier to prophesize then the turn at the bottom.... right on target.

The gains come quicker on the way down, so the potential for profit is great.... but, unfortunately keeping an eye on it throughout the day is required, as the turning point to go back up ois harder to see. Thanks again !

Would the MACD cross work here? Also the TRIX peaking at the same time as the MACD seems to be reasonable indicators to guesstimate pullbacks.

Maybe you'll like one of these

Fetcher[set{vvv,atr(20)/close}
close between 3 and 10
and average volume(20) above 250000
and vvv above .1
and RSI(2) increasing 2 days market is not otcbb
]

or
Fetcher[Close is near upper Bollinger Bands(20,2)
close is below open
MACD Histogram(4.8)has been decreasing 1-day
MACD Histogram(4,8)1-day ago had been increasing
2-day slope of MA(20)is above 0
MA(20)is more than 2% below close
average volume(90)is above 100000
draw linear regression channel(60)
]

Good luck!

A small tweak to TROs awesome filter. This sorts by how many days SINCE 13 xover above 26.

Fetcher[/* KISS OF DEATH - SHORTS */
ema(13) crossed below ema(26)
add column days(ema(13) crossed above ema(26), 100)
stock is optionable
sort by column 5 desc
]

Railwhore...

"ema(13) crossed below ema(26)" means this just happened TODAY!

So

"add column days(ema(13) crossed above ema(26), 100)"

doesn't really mean anything in this filter.

Understand?
