Ever since they were gobbled up by Investools, their service has been somewhat irregular. It shouldn't go unnoticed that their recent introduction of ProphetChart is a notable addition to their existing tools, but other areas have suffered just as noticeably.

First, as a subscriber to their service for the last 5 years, I find it insulting that they should provide ProphetChart to ThinkorSwim (the brokerage arm of Investools) prior to introducing it to their own subscribers.

Second, their fees have gone up since the introduction of ProphetChart. Whether this is tied to ProphetChart I cannot say but, if that happens to be the case, I ain't getting all the benefit for the money I pay because ProphetChart is not fully functional at the moment. For example, I can't access any futures because of some known bugs, so I'm told.

Lastly, in a very volatile environment, their data is often delayed by as much as 15 minutes. As a trader, this is not acceptable. Luckily, I have access to other data vendors.

All things considered, Prophet.net is otherwise a pretty reliable data vendor for those casual investors without concern for real-time data. If ure a short-term oriented trader in hot pursuit of the day's momentum stocks, however, you might run into some problems. In addition, Prophet.net throws in a ton of customizable features for their various charts, including personalized indicators that you can mix and match. Since their platform is web-based, there's no need to install a software like you would with eSignal. Moreover, they are still cheaper than eSignal and others. But I guess you get what you pay for.

I see my response has disappeared ...
and I'm NOT gonna type the whole thing again.
Here's an abbreviated version ...
- they crash
- they do upgrades during trading hours, not on week-ends.
these upgrades can last up to 3 days, so you have nothing.
- when they're system's down, tech support doesn't answer the phone.
- Pnet is very easy to use; virtually no learning curve.

eom
