If you look at the following TradingView image you can see I have Bollinger Bands set at (60,close,2):

http://postimg.org/image/50ts1kukx/

I don't see how to do this in SF.

I wrote the following filter to select stocks that drop below the lower BB based on the (60,close,2) setting and drop below 30 on the RSI but it doesn't work correctly. Here it is:

[Show stocks where RSI(28) below 30
and Bollinger %B(20,2.0) below 2.0
Draw RSI(28) line at 30
Chart-time is 1 months
volume is above 300,000
market is not OTCBB]

Not all the stocks it selects fall below the lower BB for a given date. I'm obviously missing something here. (example HRB april29, 2016)

Thanks in advance for any pointers.

Checkout the guide:
http://www3.stockfetcher.com/download/sfuserguide2_0.pdf

-----------
Fetcher[
Chart-length is 1 month
volume is above 300,000
market is not OTCBB

/*drop below the lower BB based on the (60,close,2)*/

close crossed below lower bollinger band(60,2)

/*drop below 30 on the RSI*/

rsi(28) crossed below 30

Thank you @four. I'd read the guide but I guess I didn't study it well enough.

Very welcome

Remember Booker doesn't require both to drop on the same day (my filter -above- does)... only that they are both below.

PS Let us know how Rob Booker treats you (Knoxville Divergence?)
Before you ask... I haven't tried his ideas.

Well spotted!

Using his interpretation of trend lines and a filter similar to what I described above I've had great success with my discretionary trades on FX. Roughly, 85% success but it's early days. I could easily wipe that out with stupid moves.

I'm still finding my feet on stock trades. I've done well on lucky strikes but I'm searching for something a little more reliable as a system. HIs methods are easy to absorb and employ. time will tell.

And... to address KDs - they're pretty damn reliable. If you take a KD trade when it's outside a BB you'll have a very high rate of success with the trade. They are a very solid indicator - in my experience.

@four

You mentioned - "doesn't require both to drop on the same day"

I notice SF only allows you to search for a particular day....not a range of days - is there a way around that with filters? If it's a RTFM question then just let me know.

Thanks!

Close....I was looking for something more like the hourly timeframe v 4hr v daily type things. I'll play around with those and see if I can get something close. Thanks!
