...dd is NOT looking for a "hollow candlestick" as you write in your above post.

He clearly states in the title of the thread that he is looking or "RED hollow candles" !

That's why I wrote my filter as I did !

Thanks for the update alf44 it is very interesting. I was not aware of that about Phrophet.net. I tried MetaStock, Stockchart.com and they seem to follow the SF format.

I will be quiet again now... ;)

So, DD, will you please tell us what you meant by your question, are you looking for a stock that closed below it's prev. close, but it's open is above it's close, or a stock that closed above it's prev. close with the close lower than the open?

Inquiring minds want to know....
